Building Fund Appeal
Peter Wollner Post 288 in Cedarburg was built after WWII. Every Fish Fry on the third Friday of the month, the post provides free meals to some veterans from Zablocki Veterans Hospital. Many of these veterans are in wheel chairs. The old bathrooms are not satisfactory for individuals who are wheel chair bound. As a result, the post has a need to build ADA approved bathrooms for visitors and members alike.
This pressing need created a proposal to complete an addition to the building which would incluse the ADA bathrooms and storage area. The cost for the addition, equipment and furnishings is estimated to be in the area of $400,000 to $425,000. As the members looked at the plans and costs associated with this project, they overwhelmingly voted to go forward in order to properly serve members, visitors and the community.
Post members are conducting a campaign to raise $400,000 through donations in the form of pledges, monetary donations, designated estate donations, wills, trusts and fundraising over a 3 years period.
